Memory and Communicator
Recommendations:
It is recommended that Communicators ram allotment be increased. We recommend a level of 16 to 30 megabytes. Anything over 30 megabytes is simply wasting ram.
To change Communicator's ram allotment:Virtual Memory and CommunicatorHighlight the Netscape Communicator icon:
File-->Get Info (-->Memory on later OS's)
Set the preferred memory to 16000K through to 30000K
leave the minimum setting as is.
Some recommend using VM, while others do not. If you are experiencing problems then trying it set both ways will determine if it is impacting upon your situation. The recommended minimum for Virtual Memory is real ram plus one, the maximum setting is double real ram. Ensure you have enough disk space available for the amount of virtual memory you set.
