Hello:
I've been using my account since.... I really don't remember (Many years ago) never have and had any problem, it works fine.
Since a couple of months i'd seen an additional folder in my account that I can't get rid off, rename, nothing.
I use my account IMAP with Thunderbird it works fine as I told before, it doesn't bother me, but I don't want it...
In the first image if I click right button to see the properties in Thunderbird you have this.Don't know where the Arabic stuff come in, I don't write arabic.
In the second image if I try to delete the folder I get this message.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance, hope to see any advise or response in this forum. |

First of all, the topic was moved to the Thunderbird forum as this has nothing to do with web mail.
If it says Arabic, don't worry about, doesn't matter.
For the other problem, in the list of accounts on the left, expand your IMAP account to show the INBOX, etc. and then right-click on the account name and select "Subscribe". UNcheck the box next to the folder you don't want any longer.

Thanks Uncle Duck.... I've already try that, but doesn't work.
Here's an image:
As you can see the only folder that I'm unsuscribed is the Saved IM (don't use it).

Ok, that account is through the now defunct Netscape Web Mail configured in Thunderbird, which still is functional. However, the IM account is no longer doable in that venue and cannot be removed by conventional methods. What you can try is to exit TB, locate your mail account in your profile and delete the particular mailbox in question. When you restart TB, it should not reappear. |

Hello MadamToodles , I tried that and while the whole branch of the tree was "refreshing" I saw for a second disappear but then appear again and stay.
I think I've done all the technically possible, I've to live with this invisible - useless folder, I really don't care as long as my Nestcape.net account works.
If anyone know a mumbojumbo procedure to fix this I'll appreciate.
Thanks |

The only other suggestion would be to access the preferences in your AIM account and see if there is a selection to disable saved IM messages. |

Sorry guys... try some of your tips, but the Chat panel is not available.
No AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) History delete option.
Nothing else to do.
Well, thanks for your advice.

Do you have AIM installed on your computer?
If so, go to:
Settings => IM Acrhives and then UNcheck the box "Archive IMS" and "Archive Chats". Click the button "Clear All Archives".
Exit Thunderbird before doing the above and afterwards restart TB and see if the "SavedIMS" is still there.
