Remove that profile, restart Firefox, create a new profile and then restore ONLY passwords and bookmarks. |

Will try that tomorrow night.
Thought I'd simplify things and just make IE my default for Thunderbird e-mail.
When it tried to import settings from Thunderbird I got an error message, and it changed the default to IE but didn't bring over any of the passwords, etc.
It even brought over the site error message, but when I clicked on the retry button, it connected, which it wouldn't do from Firefox.

I'm sorry to be so long getting back. Personal things have been a mess.
I give up.
I was unable to re-create the steps from create new profie firefox.exe -ProfileManager.
I was unable to create a new profile, although I did previously.
I attempted to update the profile only using bookmarks and passwords and nothing changed, all history was included....
I have made IE the default, so at least I can respond to e-mails.
I loved Netscape, but have found Firefox not as stable: sometimes just closing istelf for no apparent reason;
Saying it's still running when Task Manager says it's not, often requiring total computer restart just to get Firefox up again.
Very slow loading compared to IE, or even the old Netscape.
I'll continue with it as "primary" browser because I have all the bookmarks and passwords set, and I'm not very familiar with IE's password manager....
But, thank you for all your attempts to help.

What you need to do is to invite a computer savvy friend or relative to come over and personally sit at your desk as helping from afar isn't working.
