There are some users that are having problems understanding what the "Front Page" of this UFAQ is or where it is. So, I will post this announcement here for their benefit.

If you are having problems with anything related to Netscape Web Mail, email Mark Gregor.

My netscape email account is: coachdtrso@netscape.net.

I contacted the DecisionOne and was told they do not handle this type of problem. Have sent to Netscape feedback but this does not fix the problem.

I have even uninstalled 7.2 and went back to 7.1. However, the problem has not gone away. Since 12noon today I have not been able to send/reply or receive email via my Netscape account.

Have sent the following to Mark Gregor via another email account I have with my network provider:

Netscape Unoffical FAQ said to contact you concerning Netscape email issues.

I am using Netscape 7.2.

For some reason all of a sudden I can no longer send/reply via my Netscape email account. Keep getting message: "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Client Authentication Required. Use ESMTP EHLO and AUTH. Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again."

All was working just fine sometime after 12noon today, Tuesday 24 Aug 2004.

I have been told by some friends that they sent me some emails but I have not received any new emails. When I select, "get all new messages" I get message "there are no new messages on the server".

I checked with the network provider who says everything on their end is set up correct. Have sent feedback to Netscape. Until something is fixed I am dead in the water.

Ok, so have you heard back from Mark yet? Usually takes 24 hrs for a response but he DOES respond.

I have begun have identical problems. It is very frustrating as I cannot even retieve them through the Netscape website

I am having to set up a new email account to enable me to email him about my broken one

You mean you don't have another email account other than a web mail one ??

I do but as I never use them ive forgotten the passwords. Ive managed to send him one from my NTL account Smile

Update on the mail problem:

I tested it again & got 'this account has permanent fatal errors'.

In a bit of a panic i tried accessing the account through the netscape site but it wouldnt let me, saying the email address couldnt be validated.

At the third attempt i cancelled before it completed, & low and behold my email page appeared.

It would seem I had exceeded the 5mb limit - after clearing all the folders it works fine.

There was much rejoicing Smile

I too had the problem with esmtp ehlo i finally figure it out go to preferences in web mail and make sure your sign in name and password is correct for your which ever internet provider your are using my sign in name was incorrect not there at all actually. they are not asking for your webmail sign in name its your sign in for your provider thats the trick i felt pretty lucky after i figured it out for myself.
